Magnesium Alloy Grades
Magnesium alloys are primarily categorized based on their composition and mechanical properties. Common grades include:
- AZ31B: Mg-3%Al-1%Zn. Known for good strength, excellent formability, and weldability.
- AZ61A: Mg-6%Al-1%Zn. Offers higher strength and better corrosion resistance than AZ31B.
- AZ91D: Mg-9%Al-1%Zn. High strength and excellent castability.
- AZ80A: Mg-8%Al-0.5%Zn. High strength and good corrosion resistance.
